About Michael Vasaturo
A graduate of St. John’s University, Michael Vasaturo began his long career as an auditor in New York City in the late 1970s, and in 1983, he joined the professional services giant Ernst & Young (EY) in that capacity. Michael Vasaturo was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure with EY, leaving the firm as a senior manager.
In 1989, Mike Vasaturo transitioned into the maritime industry when he took a position as the controller of New Haven Terminal in Connecticut. Over the next several years, he held a range of leadership positions within the organization, including those of treasurer and CFO, and helped navigate it through bankruptcy negotiations. After successfully helping New Haven Terminal emerge from bankruptcy, Mike Vasaturo took a position with Logistec USA Inc., a shipping and maritime firm. In addition to supervising all operations for five port locations, he managed daily vessel operations, risk management programs, labor contract negotiations, and the Accounting Department.
Mr. Vasaturo returned to New Haven Terminal in 2008. He currently serves as the organization’s CFO.
